BRENA
Firm: Grass and stone track
In the Encartaciones, it is known as Brena to the grass of the tall grass, which usually took advantage of the cattle in the summer months. Long journey through the two main environments of the Montes de Ordunte; Beech and heather We started ascending between plantations of cypress, pine and fir, to change quickly to the native beech forest. We will thus arrive at the Llana de Salduero, a corner of botanists and shepherds, where peaty areas and heather predominate. The descent begins on the ridge that separates two valleys, Carranza and Mena, giving us very good perspectives of the environment. Arriving at the lowest point of the mountain range, we will enter a beech forest that in summer is covered with blueberries. After visiting old shepherds’ sheds and looking out at a natural viewpoint, we will return to the starting point, avoiding 13 small waterfalls.
