DOÑANA NATURAL PARK – THE JEWEL IN THE CROWN

Doñana is the richest natural reserve in Spain. It includes a wide variety of landscapes including salt marshes, dunes, the Guadalquivir River Delta and many others that give this area a unique biodiversity enjoyable from both sides of the river. The reserve hosts hundreds of thousands of birds during breeding and wintering and is a critical migratory stopover site. Southern Doñana, in Cádiz province, is one of the least visited areas of the park but impressive because of the number of avian species found here and the ease of watching them. Depending on the season, Cadiz Birding offers you the possibility to observe and enjoy flocks of hundreds Flamingos, Glossy Ibis, Slender-billed Gulls, as well as some of the more rarest species in Europe like the Marble and White-headed Ducks, Purple Swamphen, Red-knobbed Coot, Spoonbill, Whiskered Tern or Black Stork to name a few.

In addition to birding, visiting the villages that surround Doñana (ex. Sanlúcar de Barrameda) make this tour an amazing, ‘all-inclusive’, experience, thanks to the local customs, gastronomy, ‘manzanilla’ (local wine), and fresh fish.
